Gastric sleeve Turkey review: Cheryl and Jayne
What the video covers
Cheryl and Jayne, two patients from England, talk to the clinic’s coordinator two to three days after their gastric sleeve operations in İzmir. Both admit they were nervous before coming.
Jayne says she feels better than she expected, and a lot better since her first soup. Cheryl says she does not feel as if she has had a major operation: she has energy, is not in pain and is up and walking. She credits the coordinator for answering her questions straight away before the trip.
From the airport a driver brought them to the hospital, and within half an hour of arriving they had blood tests and an ECG. They also saw a chest specialist and a cardiologist and had an ultrasound. One of them says she was surprised by how many tests there were and how thorough they were – it “made me feel very very safe”. Both would recommend it, and they thank the nurses, the surgical team and the aftercare.
Filmed in July 2023. How it works today: day 1 arrival and blood tests; day 2 scans, specialist reviews and surgery around midday; four nights in hospital until discharge – no hotel; day 5 discharge and transfer to the airport. Flights are not included.
