£2,499 covers everything from landing in İzmir to take-off five days later. The flight is yours to book, and that is usually cheaper for you.
This page explains what “flights included” really means in other packages, how to get to İzmir from the UK, and when it is safe to fly home.
Published packages with flights generally run from about £2,500 to £3,800. The fare is simply inside the number, at whatever the agency paid for it.
One night on the ward and the rest in a hotel is the commonest way to make room for a flight in a low price. It is also the single biggest safety difference between packages.
The agency books what suits its block booking, often from one London airport. From Manchester, Glasgow or Belfast you pay to get to the flight you were “given”.
We quote one price that is true for every patient, £2,499, and you add the fare that is true for you. See exactly what the price covers on the gastric sleeve Turkey price section.
At the time of writing: easyJet from London Gatwick, London Luton and Liverpool; Pegasus from London Stansted; seasonal services from SunExpress, Jet2 and British Airways. About 3 h 40 min to 4 h in the air.
Outside the summer season, or from airports without a direct route, you connect through Istanbul. Allow for the connection when you choose your arrival time.
February, May and October are usually the cheapest months; July and August the dearest. Booking around eight weeks ahead generally helps.
Arrive on day one, any time; you are admitted and have bloods that day. Fly home on day five or later. Tell the surgeon your flight numbers and the driver will be at arrivals.
Routes and schedules change. Check the airline or a comparison site before you plan, and confirm your dates with the surgeon before you pay for anything.
Day five at the earliest. You spend four nights in hospital, the surgeon examines you on the morning of day five, and the transfer takes you straight to the airport. Packages that put you on a plane on day three are saving a hotel bill, not following a medical rule.
What happens after you land in the UK, from your GP to A&E, is on the is gastric sleeve in Turkey safe page, and the full UK patient guide is on the surgeon's main site: gastric sleeve Turkey: the complete patient guide.

No. £2,499 covers everything from the moment you land in İzmir to the moment we drop you at the airport on day five. You book and pay for your own flights.
Because a “flights included” package either hides the fare inside a higher price or pays for it by cutting something you need, usually nights in hospital. A fare from Glasgow in August and one from Gatwick in February are not the same number, and we would rather quote a price that is true for everyone.
Not with us. You stay four nights in hospital and fly on day five at the earliest, after the surgeon has examined you. Do not book a return flight before day five.
İzmir Adnan Menderes (ADB). The airport transfer to the hospital and back is included, for you and your companion.
Yes. At the time of writing easyJet flies direct from London Gatwick, London Luton and Liverpool and Pegasus from London Stansted, with further seasonal routes from SunExpress, Jet2 and British Airways. Flight time is about three hours forty minutes to four hours. Schedules change, so check before you plan.
It depends on the season and how early you book. The shoulder months, such as February, May and October, are usually cheapest and July and August the most expensive. Booking about eight weeks ahead generally gets a better fare.
Their flight is the only thing they pay for. Their bed in your twin room, three meals a day and the transfers are included.
Your GHIC does not cover Turkey and standard travel insurance excludes planned surgery. Take a policy that explicitly covers elective treatment abroad, including repatriation.
Send your height, weight and age first. Once the surgeon has confirmed a sleeve is right for you, he tells you which arrival days work, and then you book the flight.
Do not book a flight before the surgeon has confirmed your operation date. Message him and he will give you the dates to search for.
WhatsApp is the quickest route. You write to the surgeon himself, not a call centre or an agency.
